AFCON Football Fan Special: 6-Day Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route Trek

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by our friendly team. After a brief orientation, you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Take the rest of the day to relax, acclimatize, and prepare for your exciting trek ahead. Enjoy a welcome dinner and get to know your fellow adventurers.

After breakfast, we will drive to the Lemosho Gate, where you will complete the necessary park registration. Once everything is set, we will begin our trek through the lush rainforest. The trail is surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna, and you may even spot some wildlife along the way. We will hike for about 3-4 hours to reach Big Tree Camp, where we will set up camp for the night.

Today, we will continue our ascent as we leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone. The trek will take approximately 5-6 hours, offering stunning views of the Shira Plateau and Mount Kilimanjaro. As we approach Shira 1 Camp, take a moment to appreciate the breathtaking scenery. After setting up camp, enjoy a hearty dinner and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

On this day, we will embark on a shorter trek to Shira 2 Camp, which will take about 3-4 hours. This allows for acclimatization and exploration of the surrounding area. Enjoy the panoramic views of the mountain and the unique landscape. Once we arrive at Shira 2 Camp, you can relax, take photos, and enjoy the evening under the stars.

Today’s trek will be one of the most scenic as we make our way to Barranco Camp. The hike will take approximately 6-7 hours, passing through the beautiful alpine desert. You will have the chance to see the famous Barranco Wall, a stunning rock face that we will tackle the next day. Upon reaching Barranco Camp, enjoy a warm meal and share stories with your fellow trekkers.

This is the day you’ve been waiting for! We will start our summit attempt around midnight, trekking through the night to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak. The climb will take about 6-8 hours, and you will be rewarded with breathtaking views at sunrise. After celebrating your achievement, we will descend back to Barranco Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp. Enjoy a well-deserved dinner and reflect on your incredible journey.

On our final day, we will trek from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, which will take about 3-4 hours. Upon reaching the gate, you will receive your summit certificates to commemorate your achievement. Afterward, we will transfer you back to Moshi for a celebratory lunch and some time to relax before your departure.
